Wayne ‘FROSTY FREEZE’ Frost Dies

Wayne “Frosty Freeze” Frost, hip-hop/breakdance pioneer who appeared with the Rock Steady Crew in the 1983 movie “Flashdance” has died at the age of 44.

Frost died Thursday (4th April 2008) at Mount Sinai Hospital after a long illness according to longtime friend and Rock Steady Crew Senior Vice President Jorge “Fabel” Pabon

Dancers were also call as ‘b-boys’, which was short for ‘beat boys’ or ‘break boys’.

Frost started his career in 1978 with Bronx based Rock City Crew. Later in 1981, he became a part of the Rock Steady Crew and toured the world. He has also appeared in the hip hop movies Wild Style, Beat Street and Style Wars. He was famous for his extraordinary style, choreography and daring moves such as backflips and headspins. One of his deadliest moves was even dubbed “The Suicide”.
